#30in330

Okay - so I came across this challenge when I was scanning through challenges on a website called Habitica!

I ADORE Habitica!  If you are looking for a way to keep your life on track, want someone to kick your butt into implementing more habits, and like gamification - you have GOT to try this out!

Anyway, back to the Challenge.  It's like the Day Zero Challenge, but shorter! For the rest of the year, you have identified Goals, Accomplishments, and Experiences - THIRTY of them, to be exact - that you want to have done by the end of 2016.

Well!  I'm gonna do it!  You can, too!  Go to #30in330 to learn more and to sign up!  Try out Habitica, too!  You just may get hooked!

Top 10 Re-Reads

This is a cool topic.  There are several books I would love to re-read, but I have so many new books that I want to read more!
The Broke and the Bookish

Here's a list of what I would like to re-read, if I didn't find myself captured by something shiny and new!

1. The Villa by Nora Roberts
I was a big Nora Roberts fan for a while and this one just seemed more 'real' to me.

2. Emily and Einstein by Linda Francis Lee
I cried at the end. I loved this story.

3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Hugged this book to my chest when I finished it.  Awesome!

4. Austentatious by Alyssa Goodnight
What a fun premise!  Jane Austen speaking through a journal to a science geek

5. Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman
Read it in college and it deserves a re-read

6. Once a Hero by Michael Stackpole
Fantasy that both my husband and I read together and quite enjoyed

7. Charlotte Collins by Jennifer Becton
Wow! What a great Austen-esque book.  I loved the tenderness in this book.

8. Every Day by David Leviathan
I recommend this book to young and old.  What a neat concept and David Leviathan did an excellent job of capturing different lives.

9. The Undiscovered Goddess by Michelle Colston
I laughed my ass off in this one, and learned a whole bunch too!  I want the Goddess Workbook!

10. Stand Up for Your Life by Cheryl Richardson
I need to re-read this one and go through the steps this time.

And here are the ones that I have read a few times... it should be no surprise to those who know me!

1. Persuasion by Jane Austen (three times already!  It's about time for another re-read!)
2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (twice)
3. Emma by Jane Austen (glad I re-read this one - enjoyed it much more the second time)

What books do you want to re-read?

Classics Challenge 2016

I did it - I created another reading challenge. I want to read some classics and maybe this is the year for it.

I wanted to join other challenges, but they seemed to rigid (perhaps like some classics can be).  So, I will take a little bit of this and a little bit of that and - Voila!  Here is mine!

Here are the details:

1. This Challenge runs from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016.  You cannot start the book until January 1st, and the last page needs to be read by Dec. 31st.
2.  You can join at anytime.  Crossovers are welcome, too!
3.  It must be a Classic - but what does that mean? For the sake of argument, let's say it has to be at least 50 years old.
3.  Format doesn't matter.  Listening to an audiobook while doing your daily walk or commute is perfect!
4. You must post a Wrap-Up at the end of the year (even if you blog about each book).
5. Need some help?  Here is a large list from Goodreads that might help!
6. Want to get a smattering of classics?  Here is a list of categories to try out.
  • Written under a pseudonym
  • Play
  • Children's story
  • Chunkster - 500+ pages
  • Novella - 120 pages or less
  • Written by a woman

  • Translated work
Here are the Levels to choose from:

Child's Play - 1-3 books
Dabbling with the Past - 4-6 books

Lost in Time - 10+ books

Sign Up to Join!  What level will you be?  Leave a Comment below once you have signed up!
