The Classics Reading Challenge

(hosted by Jessica @ Thoughts At One In The Morning

One of those things you always intend on doing, and with the League Challenge, I may as well throw a few more on the Classics Pile I will read next year!

I am going for Level 5 - 13-15 Classics!

Here's the details:

1. This challenge starts January 1st 2012 and ends December 31st 2012.
2. All books read for this challenge can be counted toward all other reading challenges.
3. All books chosen for this challenge must be books you have NEVER read or NEVER finished that were written prior to 1980.
4. Choose a level or number of books you would like to read.
5. Create a sign up post for your blog including the Classics Reading Challenge picture above and the books you would like to read (you can change your mind at any time).

The books that I plan on reading are:

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne
Dracula by Bram Stoker
King Solomon’s Mine by H. Rider Haggard
Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
The Diary of a Nobody by George Grossmith
The Final Problem by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
The Invisibile Man by H.G. Wells
The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

  2. @Jessica S. I really want to read Madame Bovary's Daughter this year, and figured I should read about the Madame herself first!

  3. Wow, you're way more ambitious than I am! lol Great list, I have a few of these on my general TBR list and The Secret Garden on my list for the challenge. One that's high on my list that I might actually add for the challenge since you've reminded me is Phantom of the Opera.

  4. @SweetMarie83 Since I am desperately trying to NOT buy any books for next year, it's time to turn to the classics that I have never read and 'The Secret Garden' has been on my list since our girls were young, but they wouldn't sit still for me to read it to them. Now they are off to college, it's time to read it to myself! LOL

  5. @Meg @ A Bookish Affair Sadly, I haven't read many classics outside of school. There are so many that I want to read...maybe this will get me started!

Thanks for taking the time to post a comment. If you leave a link to yours, I would love to visit... but it may take a few days before I comment or explore!

Sorry about the word verification - I hate them, too - but I hate vulgar spam more!

Have a Fabuloso Day!
